Assessment of Environmental Effects Report
This document is a comprehensive description and assessment of the effects on the environment of a proposal to carry out an animal pest erradication programme, including the building of a pest-proof fence, at Bream Head Scenic Reserve.
The Report has been commissioned by the Bream Head Conservation Trust.
The report is large so you may wish to download and view the Executive Summary (307kb PDF) only. However, if you wish to view the complete Report (1.7Mb PDF) please feel free to do so.
The proposal is being investigated as part of a larger community initiative to restore and enhance an area that has been identified by the Department of Conservation as being of outstanding conservation value.
Once the fence has been built, the next critical phase will be the actual removal of the animal pests.
A useful web contact for viewers could be www.lla.co.nz to Littoralis Landscape Architecture who undertook the assessment of the effect of the project on the reserve’s landscape.
